hydrangea picking

I don't understand why it is I love hydrangeas so much. Maybe it's the freaking huge size (HEH HEH), the calming colors, the robust roundness... oh well, some loves are just indescribable.

SO these were plucked from golden gate park. hehehehhe. a park patrolman drove by as Sean and I were in the hydrangea bushes. ahha so we just jumped around and acted completely innocent.. I hope.

heheh i love hydrangeas!

history lesson

Lazy Fridays when my mom is off of work, we take short adventures around the city. This friday we journeyed to the Asian Art Museum to see the Ming Dynasty exhibit. We grabbed a 4:00 lunch in the Tenderloin at Mangosteen and bused home to get froyo. Oh sweet, sweet summer.

My mom. Afterwards she asked me not to put it on facebook. HAHA

Japanese monks coming and going.

The Asian Art museum is so beautiful! I love all the angles next to the curves of the escalator.

A fierce looking samurai (OH! abc family's samurai girl, jaimie chung below, went to Lowell! yaaa! put her on the wall of fame!)
You could totally have prom here. its so classy and not as spacey as City Hall.

CHOPS: before and after

BEFORE: At my last hair cut on April 26, 2008 (HA I only remember b/c it's the day Sean asked me to prom) I asked for straight bangs and straight ends. No layers whatsoever! Nope. I was through with the gradual layers phase that was most of middle and high school. And now I was going for that hardcore, asian madow look, ya know? Haha. But after 4 months of trimming my bangs so they don't stab my eyeballs, I've had quite enough of being a model. That's 4 months I haven't seen my forehead too!GASP
Below : one June day at school with Corinne. Notice that straight bangs=acorn face.
Below: one week ago, wearing Gordon's glasses. As you can see, bangs are growing beyond control! Hair is straggly and seemingly unkept. Also v long although not completely shown goes on for another 2-3 inches.

AFTER!!!: TAADAAAAH! 8/29/08 I asked Eunice (at supercuts heheh) for choppy layers and side bangs. I guess the exposure sucks cause you can't see all the layers, but YAY finally some dimension!

EYE LUF IT. It's soo much lighter and v much more volume.. maybe that John Frieda stuff will work now!

IN OTHER NEWS: Sean has recently switched belts! *applause* No longer will we see grommet-ed tan canvas, hopefully. Hooray for leather!

new mascara

I'm a cheapo. I never buy clothing regular price. My cheapness, err "asian-ness," also applies to my makeup bag. *Sigh* No Givenchy mascara for me. Instead I've settled for this CoverGirl Lash Exact (Queen Latifa commercials), shown above, with its rubber bristles and "clump free" formula. Yeah right... clump free. The bristles aren't long enough to reach around the lashes and comb them through. Result= clumping black goo. Maybe I should have bought another VolumeExact shown below
THIS is the best mascara I've tried to date.. and I've tested A LOT. The longer rubber bristles coat and separate AND it's pretty much clump free. Using it almost everyday, this little tube has lasted almost 5 months! That's kind of incredible. :( oh well. I have 5 months left until new mascara I guess.

Bare Escentuals Free sampo!

I've been waiting to try this for a couple years and now Sephora is giving out free samples at the register!!!!!! The sample size is pitiable, but at least it's completely free!

What I Want Now!

Revolutionary Mascara
This is one of those "why didn't anyone think of this before?" things. The round head wand "reaches every lash and adapts to all eye shapes," according to Sephora-- which is so true. How can you miss a lash when the wand is eeeny weeny. It's like eyeliner for lashes! YAY! When I uploaded this picture my sister was like, "ARE YOU BLOGGING about MASCARA? " then she said "It looks like a spade.." thanks chi. I really, really want to try this!
Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara $27 Sephora

Wrap Sweater
Because it's an easy way to dress up tshirts and jeans.
Cotton, C&C California, $98

Stain
This one is lip-plumping and has staying power! woohoo! It's made by the same people who brought you that venomous lip-plumping berry lipgloss that tasted like jalapeno gum.
DuWop Pure Venom Lip Stain $24

froyo

I just got back from LA orientation and hanging out with cousins. Orientation was aiiite cause I the people in my orientation group were just kinda cliquey and talked about building beer bongs and slutty dancing and stuff.. blah.

BUT LA has introduced me to the best of bests... FROZEN YOGURT! Yogurtland is by far the best i've ever had. it makes tutti melon taste like cottage cheese. Yogurtland is 30c per oz, self serve, whatever topping you freaking want. amaaazing flavors like peach, mango, pomogranate, green tea, pineapple, chocolate.. basically whatever you want. omg its so good. not too tarte, not too sweet. juuuust right. and so cheap, that i got TWO cups.
